For the last 10 years, I’ve been focused on connecting the worlds of organizational development and social change. I worked with grassroots community groups in Canada as an organizational development facilitator for the Centre for Community Organizations and through my volunteer and board experience at Santropol Roulant. Prior to that I worked on a variety of community development projects in the U.S.- as a lead organizer for a grassroots school reform project, as a national trainer on citizen participation in municipal planning, and as a community coordinator for a city-wide project that helped low-income women start micro-enterprises.
In 2010, Warren and I left Montreal for an open-ended journey to visit social change projects in Africa and India and have recently settled in Cape Town, South Africa where we continue to grow the work of Organization Unbound.
A few random facts about me…I am an avid fan of bicycle-centric cities and excited to see the use of bicycles as a form of transportation gaining momentum in Cape Town. I crave dialogue, community, and crossing societal divides. My favourite quote of late: “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – civil rights leader Howard Thurman
